Take prejudice, how it grows. First a few people say
something disparaging about a person, and, generally there is a fragment of
truth in what they say. The story grows, is spread, the circle widens,
discussions are indulged in, inharmony results, schism takes place, what a
waste of precious time that could and should be used for constructive work!

1921, published in ‘My Pilgrimage to the Holy Land’)
